Robert "Bob" Burckhartte

Robert Burckhartte, age 82, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on March 14, 2026, surrounded by his family at the Western Reserve Hospice House in Cleveland. Born on May 28, 1943, in Conneaut, Ohio, to the late Edward and Rose Burckhartte (Beno), Bob graduated from Conneaut High School before serving in the United States Navy. He later worked as a semi-truck driver.

He first married Janice Hassler-Burckhartte, with whom he shared three children. In 1984, he married the love of his life, Cindy Burckhartte. Together they raised seven children: Brian (Maggie) Burckhartte, Beth Ann (Randall) Hedrick-Jackson, Robert Burckhartte, Justin Burckhartte, Jennifer Christine, Brandi Burckhartte, and Jamie Burckhartte. Bob found great joy in boating, fishing, tending to his yard, and especially in the company of his beloved dog, Cash.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Janice Hassler, his sister Judy Reffner, his grandson Billy Martin III, and his nieces Lynette and Rhonda Reffner.

Bob is survived by his wife Cindy, all of his children, his sister Rosemary (John) Carlucci, and his grandchildren: Amber (Tony) Langdon, Alyssa (Matthew) Noé, Chalise (Daniel) Bayletts, Hope (Justin) Drews, Hunter Cox, Kylee Burckhartte, Madison Burckhartte, Lewis Pierce IV, Exzavior Martin, Heaven Martin, Riley Farmer, Anthony Burckhartte, and Avery Wooding, along with many great-grandchildren.
