Robert Barnes ObituaryVisit the Chapel of the Valley website to view the full obituary.Robert's life came to a peaceful close, surrounded by the love and support of his family, with his wife's hand on his heart as he took his last breath. Born in Pomona, California to Thomas and Ellamae (World) Barnes, he grew up in Sacramento where he met his wife Linda (Cooper) Barnes. Throughout his illustrious career as a mechanic, Robert dedicated over 41 years of service, progressing from lube man to journeyman, to supervisor and instructor. His hobbies included building model planes and taking road trips. He is survived by his sister Muriel (Jeanne Barnes) Schmitt, wife Linda, sons Larry (wife Jackie Driscoll) and Thomas (Wife Rebecca Taylor), daughters Kara (Husband Michael Stephens) and Janice (husband Alex Cabassa) and numerous grandchildren, William Moore, Christopher Skupic, Hailey (Barnes) Kellie, Travis Peterson, Brittani Peterson, Skye (Barnes) Menezes, Krystal Barnes, Marklyn Stephens, Aedan Barnes, as well as numerous great grandchildren. Robert's remarkable kindness, compassion and generosity left a lasting impact on those who knew him. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished the memories and stories he shared with and about each of them. While his passing is deeply felt, solace is found knowing he is now with our Heavenly Father. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date in Sacramento. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.Read The Full ObituaryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
