Robert B. Northup

March 28, 1948 March 10, 2026

Sylvania, OH

Robert B. Northup, known affectionately as Robin, was born on March 28, 1948, and passed away of natural causes on March 10, 2026. A graduate of Ottawa Hills High School, he went on to earn degrees and certifications in Culinary Arts, Truck Driving, Radiology, and even obtained a pilot’s license. He dedicated decades of his career to working as a radiologist at Toledo Hospital before retiring. Robin was a longtime member of St. Michael’s in the Hills Episcopal Church.

Later in life, he moved to Vero Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed the sunshine and time with his brothers and sister-in-law. In 2025, he returned to Sylvania, Ohio, to be closer to his family, particularly his nephews Alex and Joshua, his bonus niece Jennifer, and their families. Robin embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in snorkeling, motorcycle riding, traveling the world, cooking and baking, photography, art, bowling, ping-pong, fishing, movies, Rummikub, and celebrating every holiday to the fullest. His family will always remember his spontaneous visits bearing homemade pies made from scratch with love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Spencer Northup, his brother Spencer II, and his great-niece McKenzie. Robin is survived by his nephews Alex (Joy) Northup and Joshua (Elisha) Northup, his bonus niece Jennifer (Patrick) Miller, his sister-in-law Amy Cameron, his sister-in-law Cindy Northup, and his brother Charles Northup. He was a beloved great-uncle to Ryan, Robert, and Clarissa, who will miss him deeply. He is also survived by several close cousins and many dear friends.

Robin requested that no funeral service be held. His ashes will be laid to rest with close relatives in the Northup plot at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. His family will gather for a Celebration of Life at a date yet to be determined.
