Robert Arthur Trefry

Robert Arthur Trefry, 83, of York, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 7, 2026, at Wellspan Chambersburg Hospital. Born on March 15, 1942, in Somerville, Massachusetts, he was the son of Hazel and Arthur Trefry. He grew up in Medford, Massachusetts, and went on to earn a degree in psychology from Gordon College before completing a master’s degree at Dallas Theological Seminary.

For the next forty years, Bob faithfully served as a pastor, answering what he believed was the Lord’s call. Even after retirement, he remained deeply involved in the church, teaching Sunday school and leading home Bible studies. He enjoyed sports, reading, fishing, hunting, and collecting historic firearms, yet his true passion was people. Warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely interested in others, Bob formed lasting friendships across the many communities he served, staying in touch with friends for decades.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Trefry, four daughters, seventeen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
