Robert Strickland ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory - Brunswick on Mar. 16, 2026.Robert Allen StricklandJanuary 26, 1959 – March 13, 2026Waverly lost a master craftsman and a devoted family man on March 13, 2026, with the passing of Robert Allen Strickland. Born on January 26, 1959, Robert spent his life deeply rooted in the soil of Southeast Georgia. He retired after 43 years of dedicated service to the Camden County Road Department, where he served as a supervisor for many years and cherished the friendships of his many beloved coworkers.Robert was a man of the community who truly never knew a stranger. Known for his generous spirit, he was always the first to step up and help anyone in need, regardless of the task. For 48 years, he shared a beautiful life of love and partnership with his wife,Sherry. To those who knew him best, Robert was the man with the bees. As a Master Beekeeper, he turned a hobby into a legacy, working the hives with his family and sharing his knowledge with anyone eager to learn. When he wasn't tending to his bees or cheering on the Camden County Wildcats, he was likely outdoors hunting or fishing. His greatest joy, however, was his granddaughter, Natalie. Whether he was teaching herhow to hunt, riding in the truck, or showing her how to do things, he was a constant source of wisdom, patience, and love.Robert's perfect afternoon was spent on his front porch, watching the cars go by in Waverly while the sounds of the BeeGees or The Eagles filled the air.He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sherry Hope Strickland; his son, Josh Strickland; his granddaughter, Natalie Strickland, all of Waverly, and granddaughter, Madisen Raffaelly, of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his mother, Mamie Strickland of White Oak; his siblings: Anthony Strickland, Daniel (Sherry) Strickland, Laura Johnson, and Tammy (Chad) George, all of White Oak; David (Brenda) Stricklandof Brunswick; Julie (Ricky) Manning of Woodbine; and Nora Mort of Atkinson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
