Robert A. Lundy, 83, of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born in Branchville, Virginia, he was the son of Robert W. and Essie (Person) Lundy.
In the early 1980s, Robert played a significant role in the music world as the manager of the legendary Force MDs, the pioneering R&B/hip-hop group from Staten Island that included three of his sons and his nephew among its core members. After the group’s early success, he and his sons left New York and settled in the Pocono Mountains, where they purchased homes and began a new chapter of family life.
Robert lived in the Tobyhanna area for the past 35 years. After leaving the music industry, he devoted many years to his community as a bus driver for the Pocono Mountain School District and later continued his driving career with Trans-Bridge Lines, where he was known for his reliability and steady presence.
He is survived by his wife Donna M. (Glynn) Lundy, his former wife of 30 years Molly Lanier, and his seven children: Steven Lundy of Douglasville, Georgia; Rodney Lundy and wife Lisa of Wind Gap, Pennsylvania; Melvin Lundy of Scranton, Pennsylvania; Wanda Kennedy of Augusta, Georgia; Gwendolyn Boyd and husband Joshua of Charlotte, North Carolina; Felicia Lundy of Powder Springs, Georgia; and Selena Lundy of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. He also leaves 28 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and 9 siblings. Robert was preceded in death by his son Antoine M. Lundy.
He cherished spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
