Though Bob was most remembered by his long-term residency in East Bridgewater, he spent his later years in Taunton, where he resided with his loving wife Terri Baker-Holt and sister-in-law Patricia Hendrickson.Bob was born on October 12, 1954 in Northampton, MA to the late Robert Eugene Holt and Evelyn May Sanford-Holt. He was a 1972 graduate of East Bridgewater High School, where he excelled at football and track.Bob was a man of many callings, who built a life through honest work and dedication. Most notably, he served as an East Bridgewater firefighter and later managed the Lobster Hut in Brockton where he left a lasting impact on his employees. He spent his later years as a truck driver committed to his Boston route ensuring he always "beat the rush".Bob was known for his humor, kindness, and gentle nature. A jokester at heart, he was always ready to make you laugh. Over his years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, watching his daughters' sports games, taking family vacations, and working in the yard. His happiest moments were the simplest ones – watching sports along side his beloved dogs, Cooper and Chloe, who were never far from his side.Bob was preceded by his father and namesake, Robert E. Holt, and brother, Richard Holt.Bob is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 47 years, their children; Caitlyn Holt of Philadelphia, PA, and Kelsey Holt of Halifax, MA, and her fiancé, Nicholas DeLuca; his loving mother Evelyn Sanford-Holt, of East Bridgewater, MA, his siblings; Paul Holt, of Falmouth, MA; Allison Holt-Almeida, and husband James Almeida, of East Bridgewater; as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.A private burial and celebration of life will take place at a later date.Read The Full ObituaryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
