Rita Marie Leaman, 74, of Lafayette, passed away on March 12, 2026 at her residence. She was born on December 30, 1951 in Lafayette to the late Harmon and Helen (Gipson) Scott.
On January 20, 1968, Rita married Michael E. Leaman in Otterbein, Indiana. Together they raised two daughters, and she devoted her life to being a homemaker and caring for her family. Michael preceded her in death on May 21, 2025.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Micki Jo (Rick) Clemons of Lafayette and Ginger Kay Unger of Lafayette; her sister, Barbara Moore; her brother, Randy Scott; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers, and a grandson, Gunner Leaman Jones.
She will be laid to rest at Spring Vale Cemetery.
