Rita J. Laigaie

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita J. Laigaie of Brigantine, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Rita shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Rita farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mario Marinelli and Mary Marinelli (Francisco); and her husband Joe Laigaie. She is survived by: her children, Anthony "Tony" Thompson (Michelle), Lisa DiCioccio (James) and Nancy Wasson; and her sisters, Marianna Nolan (John) and Linda Porter (Gene Kruzienski). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Keates-Plum Funeral Home (3112 W Brigantine Ave, Brigantine, NJ 08203). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
