Ervin, 76, of East Peoria, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. She was born in Chester, IL on November 22, 1949, to Ray and Myrtle (Hindman) Ervin.She is survived by her children, Amanda England of Metamora and Raymond Marfell of West Lafayette, IN and 4 grandchildren, Mackenzie (Anthony) Zowin, Logan, Gavin, and Avery.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Doug and Larry Ervin.Rita graduated from ICC with a Nursing degree and began her career at OSF. She then transitioned into a role as an Occupational Nurse, working at the Ag Lab, then ultimately retiring from Caterpillar.Rita cherished her role as a grandmother, attending her grandchildren's various sporting events and band activities. Playing Pinochle with family was something she loved and passed along to her kids. She also enjoyed dinners with friends, traveling and loved to read. Rita was passionate about many things, but above all else, she loved her family deeply and was deeply loved.A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.Memorial contributions may be made to OSF School of Nursing.
