Rileigh Wingfield

Rileigh “Ri” Wingfield, age 15, of Elkins, passed away on Friday evening, March 6, 2026, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. She was born on June 22, 2010, in Elkins, the daughter of Dustin Lee Wingfield and Miranda Chidester Wingfield, both of Elkins.

She is survived by her brothers, Noah Wingfield of Okinawa, Japan, and Gavin and Aidan Wingfield of Elkins; her paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Arbogast of Elkins; her paternal grandmother, Susan “Susie” Moore and husband John of Elkins; her maternal grandparents, Dale and Robin Chidester of Buckhannon; her great-aunt Sara Trader of Elkins; her uncle Dustin Chidester of Buckhannon; great-uncles Roger Raikes and Billy Arbogast; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Leroy Wingfield.

A sophomore at Elkins High School, Rileigh played on the softball team and was a member of Young Life. She cherished her family and friends, and found great joy in the outdoors, particularly hiking and jeep riding. She also had a special fondness for children and animals. Her warm presence and bright smile touched everyone who knew her.

She leaves behind her loving parents, brothers, and extended family who will carry her memory in their hearts.
