Ricky W. Burkhead Sr.

Ricky "Rick" W. Burkhead Sr., 64, of Senecaville, passed away on March 6, 2026, at his home. Born on September 19, 1961, in Barnesville, he was the son of Glen Eric and Edith Burkhead, who preceded him in death.

On March 1, 2000, in Barnesville, Rick married the love of his life, Rosemary L. (Taylor) Burkhead, who survives him along with their beloved cat, Levi. He is also survived by his four sons, Ricky Burkhead Jr. and Sam Burkhead of Bethesda, Josh Burkhead and Michelle Burkhead of St. Clairsville, Andrew Burkhead of Barnesville, and Jesse Burkhead and Kennedy Hoying-Burkhead of Chicago; his step-daughter, Bobbi Taylor and Rich Bowman of Cambridge; grandchildren Elaina and Emma Burkhead of Bethesda, Kohlton Burkhead of St. Clairsville, Carly Dyer and Daniel Dyer of Cambridge, and Madison Taylor of Center; and one great-granddaughter, Luna Dyer. He is further survived by his brother, Eric Burkhead and Marilyn Burkhead of Hendrysburg, and his "adopted" son and dear family friend, Colby Rinehart of Bethesda.

Rick spent his career in trucking, managing several companies, and often spoke warmly of his younger years traveling across the country. An ordained Baptist minister, he had the joy of officiating many weddings, including that of his granddaughter Carly. Above all, he was deeply proud of his family and cherished the quiet moments spent with them fishing on their boat.
