Ricky LeRoy Cotrell

Ricky LeRoy Cotrell, of Madison, Florida, passed away at his home on March 5, 2026. He was born on March 16, 1953, in Piqua, Ohio, to Frances Oliver and Stella Vivian Cotrell. Ricky moved to Madison in 1972, where he became a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He worked as a Correctional Officer for the state of Florida before retiring and remained an avid bicycle rider throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Cotrell; his children, Rick Glenn Cotrell and wife Lisa of Troy, Ohio, Carla Sue Cotrell-Simmons of Piqua, Ohio, Stacey Lynn Cotrell of Oklahoma, Dawn Michelle Craig of Hammond, Louisiana, and Linda Marie Vandemaat of Columbus, Ohio; his sister, Dixie Irene Barga of Madison, Florida; a nephew, Brian Ashford; a niece, Sue Harvey; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Joseph Harry Cotrell, Frank Edward Cotrell, Eda Marie Mohre, and Nina Marie Bachlor.
