Ricky James Newsom

Mr. Ricky James Newsom, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Southeast Health in Dothan after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.

Ricky was born on March 20, 1961, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to James Clayton and Mazie Bynum Newsom. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James Lloyd and Pearl Bynum and Hubert and Thelma Newsom. Ricky lived life to the fullest, finding great joy in watching Alabama football, listening to country music, and dancing the two-step. He owned and operated Post Parts in Enterprise before moving to Texas, where he embraced lake life. A man of faith, he attended Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Enterprise and was baptized at Open Door Baptist Church by Reverend John McCrummen, for whom he held deep respect.

He is survived by his devoted parents, who cared for him with great love in his final days; his brothers, Clayton Carroll Newsom (Rebecca Rose) of Daleville and Kenneth Newsom (Kathy) of Enterprise; his aunt, Mavis Lolley; and several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Dr. Harrelson and DaySpring Hospice, as well as the devoted support of his special friends in Texas, David, Janice, Ava, and Donna.
