Young, age 78, of Decatur formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Ricky was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from K-25 in Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Jewell "Boots" Young, daughter: Connie Bivens, sisters: Barbara Bradley and Darleen Bradley.Survivors include his wife: Hazel Young, of Decatur, daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and Randy Shell, of Madisonville, son and daughter-in-law: Ricky and Kelley Young, of Athens, grandchildren: Justin Shell, Samantha Conley, Payton Boggess, Macy Young, Ally Young, Landon Young, and Elijah Young, Great-grandchildren: Mariah Ogle, Aurora Shell, Link Shell, and Nayely Shell. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Glenise and Jerome Morris of Tellico Plains, Janie and Doug Walker, of Madisonville, Brothers-in-law: Walter "Worm" Bradley, Wayne BradleyThe family will receive friends on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Sweetwater Memory Chapel from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Memory Chapel with Rev. Richard Tallent and Rev. Brandon Tallent officiating.
