Ricky Bailey

Richard “Ricky” Wayne Bailey, 59, of Goldsboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wake County on December 1, 1966, he was the son of James Bailey, Sr. and Ruby Jean Hall Wells.

Ricky cherished the time spent with his family above all else, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He held a lifelong passion for racing, especially NASCAR, and found great joy in both watching races and attending them in person. He also loved drag racing and had a deep appreciation for classic cars, spending many of his happiest hours working on old vehicles.

He is survived by his mother, Ruby Jean Wells; his daughter, Courtney Bailey; his longtime girlfriend, Natalie Edenfield; his brother, Jamie Bailey and wife Debbie; his sisters, Susan Comisky and husband Richard, and Rhonda Peake; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, James Bailey, Sr., his sister Angie Wells, and his niece Lisa Peake.
