He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wesley and Betty Love Burchall Matheney; and his siblings, Mikey, Greg, Buddy, Emma, Liz and Gail.

He is survived by: his children, Tiffany Flores (Jerry), Jennifer Matheney, Ashley Dawn Matheney, Wesley Matheney (Nathashia) and Peggy Matheney; his girlfriend Maggie Clark; his stepsons, Donnie Clark, Austin Roberts (Jenna) and Kirk Shockley (Brandy); his grandchildren, Arica, Bailey, Tanner, Nathaniel and Ariel; and his siblings, Misty Williams (Gene), Pat Hutchins (Rick) and Gary Matheney (Pam).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
