Richard William Singer, born January 16, 1934, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. A man of creativity, warmth, and quiet ingenuity, Richard lived a life deeply rooted in family, music, art, and the simple pleasures of the outdoors.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan who cherished the camaraderie of the game. His creative spirit found expression through woodworking, painting, and pen-and-ink drawing. A gifted musician, he played the harmonica, bass, clarinet, and piano, and performed with The Hawk Ridge Boys Band and The Dapper Dan’s. Richard also took great delight in inventing gadgets, reflecting his inventive mind and restless curiosity. He found peace in fishing, gardening, tending to his beloved lake and property, and playing golf, while music remained a constant source of joy throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by his feline companion, Chester.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Sondra Singer. Together they raised two daughters, Shari Mahon and her husband Kenneth, and Cathy Antle and her husband Ed. Their family includes seven grandchildren: Michael Mahon, Eddie Antle (Molly), Andrea Johnson (Erik), Andy Antle (fiancée Andrea), Jeremiah Antle (Amber), Jared Antle, and Caitlyn Antle, as well as four great-grandchildren: Edwin Antle, Ansley Antle, Scarlett Antle, and Amiri Perez. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Singer, and three nieces, Laurie, Jane, and Becky, along with a wide circle of family and friends who treasured his humor, kindness, and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Leona Singer, his infant granddaughter Molly Antle, and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Singer.
