Preserve forever →Richard William “Rick” Weber
May 3, 1958— March 9, 2026
Hyde Park, UT
Richard William “Rick” Weber passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at his home in Hyde Park, Utah, surrounded by those he loved. He was 67 years old.
Born on May 3, 1958, to Beverly and Richard “Dick” Weber in Iowa City, Iowa, Rick entered the world with a cleft palate. He spent the first twelve weeks of his life in the hospital and became a pioneer patient for evolving plastic surgeries to repair the condition. Throughout his life he underwent additional surgeries every five years as he grew, yet he faced these challenges with humor, resilience, and a deep appreciation for life.
Rick spent his early years in and around Iowa City, surrounded by his mother’s large extended family. In 1972 the family moved to North Logan, Utah. In 1974 he met his lifelong best friend, Chad, and the two became known for driving through winter storms to help motorists who had slid off snowy roads. As a teenager, Rick and his brother Duane were well known in local church fast-pitch softball leagues as “the Weber Boys,” with Rick catching and Duane pitching as they practiced together year-round.
Rick served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Minnesota. During his college years he worked as a manager and trainer for baseball, basketball, and football teams, gathering a wealth of stories about athletes, teammates, and the many personalities he encountered—stories he loved sharing for the rest of his life. He met the love of his life, Debi, on Old Main Hill and they were married in the Logan Utah Temple in December 1986. Together they raised five children: Natalie, Nicholas, Nolan, Douglas, and Katrina, of whom Rick was immensely proud.
Throughout his life Rick touched many through his church service and his work as a teacher. He and Debi lived in Fontana, California for fifteen years, Enterprise, Utah for ten years, and the Salt Lake Valley for five years before returning to Cache Valley. Despite lifelong physical challenges, Rick considered himself blessed. He held a strong and unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, and the restored gospel, often expressing a sense of kinship with Joseph Smith, who also endured great suffering yet found strength through the Savior.
Rick was the oldest of five siblings: Duane, Jason, Sheila, and Mike. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debi; his children Natalie (Gary), Nicholas (Morgan), Nolan (Lesli), Douglas (Camille), and Katrina (Parker); his cherished grandchildren Kaylee, Moses, August, Evan, Soren, Beckham, and Elle; his mother, Beverly; and his siblings Duane, Jason, Sheila, and Mike. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Weber.
