Richard Polizio

Richard Polizio, 93, born and raised in Astoria, New York, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. A dedicated firefighter with the New York City Fire Department and a proud U.S. Army veteran, Richard served his city and country with distinction. He carried a deep sense of pride in the brotherhood of the FDNY, treasuring the lifelong friendships formed during his years of service and often sharing stories from that chapter of his life.

Richard cherished time spent with family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for travel, eagerly exploring new places and experiences. He also enjoyed a good Manhattan cocktail and fondly reminiscing about the many moments that shaped his long and meaningful life.

He is survived by his daughters Donna, Elaine, and Deb, their spouses, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. Richard is now reunited with his beloved wife, Theresa, in heaven.
