Richard Otis Kirk, 73, of Sweet Home, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on November 25, 1952, in Myrtle Point, Oregon, to Ena Winown (King) and John Edward Kirk, he spent his life in the coastal communities of Bandon and Sitkum before settling in Sweet Home.
Richard built a varied and industrious life as a skilled cabinet maker, dedicated farmer, and committed volunteer firefighter. He found quiet joy in reading, writing, creating art, and listening to music, pursuits that reflected his thoughtful and creative spirit.
He is survived by his daughters, Mae Kirk (Tim Counts) and Emma Kirk (Joel), two grandchildren, and his brother, John David Kirk. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kirk, in 2025.
