August 23, 1940— March 11, 2026
Woburn, MA
Richard O. Godjikian of Woburn passed away peacefully at his home on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.
Born in Salem on August 23, 1940, Richard was the cherished son of the late Ohan and Ann (Kacherian) Godjikian. A graduate of Salem High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a long and successful career as an electrical engineer. For more than 30 years, he worked at ESA in Chelmsford.
Richard was known for his warm personality and wonderful sense of humor. A bit sweet and a bit salty, he was the family jokester who could always bring a smile. A devoted Boston Bruins fan, he rarely missed a game. Naturally curious and mechanically gifted, he loved taking things apart to understand how they worked, often repairing and restoring items others had given up on, whether a sewing machine, an engine, or an electrical gadget needing careful soldering. In his spare time, he was an avid Lionel train collector, proudly sharing his impressive collection with family and friends. He also enjoyed going for drives and spending quiet time with those he loved.
He was the beloved husband of the late Camella E. (Nardone) Godjikian. Richard leaves behind his devoted children, Ann Marie DaMore and her husband Fred, Rick Godjikian and his fiancé Cindy Wilson, all of Woburn, and Mary Beth Buliung and her husband Eric of Franklin. He was the adoring grandfather of Dylan and Joey DaMore, and Joshua and Alexa Buliung. He was the dear brother of the late Arthur, Frank, Bobby, and Paul Godjikian and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Richard will be remembered for his humor, his deep love of family, and the passion he brought to fixing, building, and collecting the things that brought him joy throughout his life.
