June 11, 1944— March 13, 2026
St. Charles, MO
Richard Harold Myers passed away peacefully on the evening of March 13, 2026, at the age of eighty-one. Born on June 11, 1944, to Margaret Eileen and Harold David Myers, Rich’s life was forever changed in 1962 when he met Mary Margaret Hoenig at the neighborhood grocery store where he worked. It was love at first sight for both. They married in 1963 and shared sixty devoted years together, raising five children in a home filled with laughter, dancing, large family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and birthdays. They especially treasured dancing to their song “Only You” by the Platters, and their loving Christian marriage remained a shining example to all who knew them.
Rich worked as a police officer, Baptist minister, and truck driver, with his primary vocation as a long-haul truck driver. In his heart, however, being a pastor was his true calling. A lifelong and enthusiastic student of the Bible, he lived out his Christian faith without hesitation. He had a profound impact on his children, instilling in them faith, hard work, patriotism, and love of family. Known for his kind heart, legendary sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and deep love of country, Rich was an excellent listener who took a genuine interest in others. If he met you, he was almost certainly praying for you, and his passion for winning people to Christ touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Myers; his mother, Margaret Eileen Stacy; his father, Harold David Myers; his sister, Joan Estes; and his son-in-law, Marcus Lipe.
Richard is survived by his five children, Mary Margaret (Kent) Weber, Kathleen Laura (Marcus) Lipe, Richard David (Elizabeth) Myers, Steven Robert (Natalie) Myers, and Leigh (James) Earley; twelve grandchildren, Brooke (Nikolas) Tannehill, Lyndsey (David) Politte, Samuel (Kristen Gramann) Myers, Amanda (Stephen) Harrell, Madison (Jacob) Tucker, Alexis Myers, Jacob (Kelsey) Myers, Liam (Taylor) Myers, Rosemary Myers, Ryleigh Myers, Holden Myers, and Marnie Myers; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, William Stacy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him deeply.
