He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Walter Cooper, Sr. and Hazel Mooney Cooper; and his siblings, Frances Cooper Melecki, Mary Cooper Bauer, Charles Cooper Jr., Martha Cooper Brent, John Cooper and Robert Cooper.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Bronger Cooper; his daughter Mary Elizabeth Abordo (Enrico) of Kelseyville, CA; and his stepchildren, Bill Boehman (Judith), Karen Deacon and Don Boehman. He is also survived by 5 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ratterman & Sons (3800 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Martha Catholic Church (2825 Klondike Ln, Louisville, KY 40218). A burial will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at the Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40205).
