Richard Mailhiot

Richard Mailhiot, known affectionately as Rick, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia. Born on January 23, 1957, in Rutland, Vermont, to Joseph and Eleanor Mailhiot, he spent his working years employed by the Rutland Herald until his retirement.

Rick is survived by his sister, Jo-Ann Rossetti of New Hampshire, his brother, Chuck Mailhiot of Tennessee, and his special friend and caretaker, Chantelle Dewey of Norfolk, Virginia. A burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland, Vermont, at a later date.
