RICHARD "MOONEY" MADRZYKOWSKIRichard was born on June 15, 1932, to Mary Bury and Walter Madrzykowski, and passed away on February 24, 2026. He attended St. Hedwig grade school and graduated from Macomber High School in 1950. He was drafted into the Army from 1952 to 1954, serving 16 months in Korea.Richard retired from the Toledo Police Department with 25 ½ years of service, affectionately known as "Mooney" to all. After retiring from TPD, Richard worked as a Police officer at the Toledo Mental Health Center for 10 years.He was a member of several organizations, American Legion Police Post #512, Korean War Veterans NWO Chapter #131, Toledo Police Retirees, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #40, 40/8 Voiture #141 and a Life member of the Toledo Police Patrolman's Association.Richard is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Dorene Madrzykowski; and daughter, Denise (Andrew) Gary. Also survived by brother, Steve (Kelly) Paprocki; and nephew, Matt (Lindy) Paprocki. Also survived by stepsons, Keith and Kevin Munn; and stepdaughter, Sherri (Lloyd) Hogan.He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife and soulmate, Jackie Ogden Munn Madrzykowski; mother, Mary Paprocki; wonderful, wonderful, stepdad, Steve Paprocki; special aunt, Aloise Szykowny; and Walter Madrzykowski.Special thanks to Oakleaf Village and Hospice 360 for their excellent care. There will be a Funeral Mass at Little Flower Church, on March 9, 2026. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., and Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by a private interment at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, make any donations to Little Flower Church.
