He was born in Maryland on April 29th, 1959, to Gerald and Carolyn Gatewood.Richard was the loving husband of 16 years to Ameeta Gatewood and a caring brother to Linda Knott and Debbie Konka. He was a dedicated employee at McCormick and took pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.In his spare time, Richard had a passion for motorcycles and an avid dog lover. He had a natural knack for fixing things and was often the person family and friends turned to when something needed repair. He also cherished time spent with loved ones, especially on family trips to the Outer Banks and Ocean City.Richard will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his willingness to help others, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.Family and friends will honor and celebrate Richard's life at the family-owned Evans Life Celebration Home 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234 for a visitation on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
