Richard I Cole IV

Richard Cole, lovingly known as Rich or Richy, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 44 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was deeply devoted to his four children, Wren, Nathaniel, Ethan, and Elisabeth, of whom he was immensely proud and loved beyond measure. Though his passing leaves a profound void for all who cherished him, there is comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved daughter Madeline and his sister Michelle, who preceded him.

Rich is survived by his parents, Richard and Ginette Cole of Belchertown; his three cherished sisters, Heather and Al Leger, Sharon and Khemara Kang, and Stephanie and Derek Beynor; along with many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by Carey, whose selfless care and boundless love brought comfort to Rich and the entire family during his illness.

Richy will be remembered for his vibrant, mischievous spirit and quirky sense of humor that left those around him smiling. A proud UMass Amherst alumnus and passionate Boston sports fan, he found joy in the outdoors, fishing, golf, concerts, fireworks, and night hikes beneath the stars. An accomplished chef who loved cooking for others, he was also an avid collector and thrifter, always seeking unique treasures to share with those he cared about. His thoughtfulness, playful nature, and deep care for family remain his enduring legacy.
