Born on December 4, 1959, in East Chicago, Indiana, Rick was the beloved son of the late Juanita Gil and Richard Guerrero. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Felicia Arias-Guerrero; his brothers, Dean (Denine) Guerrero and their son Steven, and Ruben James (Jeanette) and children Cassandra, Bianca, Ruben, and Carlos; his sister, Lisa (Tony) Serna and children Anthony and Daniel; his dearest uncle, Paul (Dawn) Velasquez; his stepson Jesus Castillo and Elsa Quiroz and daughter Lucy; stepdaughter Marina Castillo; as well as grandchildren Alana (William) Dutro and children Kira and Damian, Danny Contreras, Acelia Castillo (Kenyonte Watkins) and children Karmen and Kai'Lani, Amari Cruz, and Alex Castillo. Family remained the heart of Rick’s world, and he found deep joy in the memories created across generations.
Rick embraced life with quiet enthusiasm. He loved action movies, spending time at the beach, attending concerts, and playing music in his backyard. A gifted cook, he took pleasure in preparing meals that gathered people together, whether at summer barbecues or during quiet winter evenings at home with his cat Rico nearby. Those who knew him will remember his readiness to offer good advice, his hearty laugh, and his ability to live fully in the present moment, whether sharing stories around a bonfire or enjoying heartfelt conversation at home.
