Richard F. Seifert Jr.

Richard F. Seifert Jr., 62, of Norwood, passed away suddenly on March 11, 2026, at his home with his wife by his side.

Born in Alexandria, Virginia, on December 8, 1963, to Edna Humble Seifert and Richard Seifert Sr., Richard graduated from Oswegatchie High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Technology from Clarkson University, where he worked for many years. Later, he completed a second Master’s degree in Education from SUNY Potsdam and became a dedicated middle school teacher at Potsdam Central School. He found deep fulfillment in teaching and was known for his love of camping, traveling, riding motorcycles, and working with his hands, especially on projects to expand his home.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Robyn, of Norwood; his son, Brian Seifert, of Boston, Massachusetts; two step-children, Charles Varney and Sara Varney Pircusk; six grandchildren; his mother, Edna Seifert; a brother, Robert Seifert; a sister, Lori Seifert Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
