Richard E. Rosbottom, 90, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 3, 2026. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he shared 65 loving years with his wife, the late Joan Rosbottom. In 1982, Richard and Joan moved to Kerrville with their daughter and youngest son, where he continued his career as a skilled toolmaker and chain machine mechanic. He worked for Excell Manufacturing, Speidel, Automatic Chain, and National Chain in Rhode Island, as well as James Avery Craftsman and Mooney Aircraft in Kerrville. In retirement, he deepened his Lutheran faith and served as an elder at the Kerrville Lutheran Church.
Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather known for his kind and gentle nature. He remained deeply dedicated to his family, offering patient listening, loving support, and thoughtful guidance to those closest to him.
He is survived by his three sons, Kenneth Rosbottom and partner Brenda Day of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Donald Rosbottom and spouse Patricia Rosbottom of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, and Steven Rosbottom of Fredericksburg, Texas; his son-in-law, Clint Cox of Sarasota, Florida; four grandchildren, Katie, Elizabeth, Sean, and Ali; and two great-grandchildren, Shiloh and Rosalene. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Rosbottom Cox, and his daughter-in-law, Arlene Rosbottom.
