East Setauket, NY
Richard E. Boyle, a longtime resident of East Setauket, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 15, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on August 19, 1944, in the Bronx, New York, Richard built a career as a dedicated truck driver and proud member of the Teamsters Local 807. He cherished the camaraderie of his fellow Teamsters and often spoke with fondness of the Italian-American friends he made throughout New York City. A single father, he devoted himself to raising and loving his daughters, Darcelle and Rachelle, with unwavering gratitude and care.
Richard was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend to his community. His great sense of humor and optimistic spirit drew people to him, whether they were 7/11 clerks or community service workers across Suffolk County. He loved doo-wop music, attended rock and roll concerts with family and friends at Foxwoods Casino and across Long Island, and delighted in pranking loved ones. Above all, he wanted everyone to know how much he loved trains.
He is survived by his daughter, Darcelle Boveri; son-in-law, Gian Boveri; granddaughter, Gianna Boveri; and chosen daughter, Kathleen Kister-Reisman. Richard’s bright humor and kind heart will be deeply missed, and his legacy will endure through the treasured memories, laughter, gratitude, and kindness he shared with all who knew him.
