Richard Coonrod ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Bath-Naylor Funeral Home & Crematory - Pittsburg on Mar. 4, 2026.Richard Keith Coonrod of McCune, KS passed away Monday at 9:35 pm, March 2nd, 2026 at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.He was born on April 26, 1956 at Mercy Hospital in Ft. Scott, KS to Richard and Virginia (Morris) Coonrod.Keith graduated from McCune High School in 1974.He attended Labette Community College in Parsons, KS receiving an associate's degree in arts and went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in education from PSU.He proudly worked as a deputy for 9 years at the Crawford County Sheriff's Department then in the HR dept for Superior, Ruskin, and Labette Medical Center.Keith married Katheryn Ann Parsons on February 13, 1976 at the Christian Church in McCune. KS. They had just recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. She survives the home.He enjoyed old cars and going to auctions and made many good friends at these auctions. Keith was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.Survivors include his wife Kathy of the home, a son Wesley Keith Coonrod and his wife Honey of Parsons, KS; One brother Dale Coonrod (Dara) of St. Paul, KS and one sister Michele Verren (Jaime) of Pittsburg, KS.Five grandchildren Klaschea Wilson, Brighton Adams, Nahele Adams, Miracle Adams all of Parsons, KS and Anoki Adams of Wichita, KS; Three great grandchildren Keaton Adams, Mason Winkler and Ronan Adams all of Parsons, KS, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
