He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Cerne and Thelma Cerne (Summerfield); his wife Betty "Jean"; and his sister Nancy (Phyllis Coy). He is survived by: his children, Richard, Jeffrey and Kathy Cerne; his brother Robert Cerne; his granddaughter Tonya Leslie; his great grandchildren, Jasmine, Destiny, Jaden, Jorden and Zoey; and his great great grandchildren, Xander, Leo, Channing and Ja'Zarrah.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Marcy Funeral Home (208 Liberty St, Conneaut, OH 44030). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at the East Conneaut Cemetery (318 Bailey Rd, Conneaut, OH 44030).
