Richard Cable ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory - McAlester on Mar. 10, 2026.Richard "Rick" Cecil Cable, Jr., 64, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.Rick was born on January 2, 1962, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Richard C. Cable, Sr., and Alice (Nace) Cable.He graduated from McAlester High School in 1980 and went on to build a life rooted in family, hard work, and the outdoors. On May 10, 1985, he married the love of his life, Kelly Ramsey, in McAlester, Oklahoma.Rick spent several years working at his parents' grocery store, Cable In and Out, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep ties within the community. Later, he and Kelly opened their own businesses, Cable's Garden World and Cedarville Woodworks. Kelly created and sold handcrafted furniture, while Rick enjoyed working alongside her and supporting their shared ventures.Rick had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and was happiest when working outside. Over the years, he also worked for Big Mac hauling water, but the work he cherished most was ranching. His longest and most fulfilling career was as a cattle rancher, operating his own cattle business and dedicating countless hours to the land and livestock he loved.Rick is survived by his daughter, Amanda Neily, and husband, Jonathan, of Hartshorne; his son, Adam Cable of McAlester; his sister, Carola Hutchinson and husband, Paul, of Texas; his brother, Darrell Cable, and wife Marilyn of Savanna; and his special friend, Bob Farris of Arpelar. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who will cherish his memory.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kelly Cable, and his parents, Richard C. Cable, Sr., and Alice (Nace) Cable.Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
