Richard Castaldo

Richard S. Castaldo, 69, of Concord, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 2, 1956, in New Rochelle, New York, Rich grew up dividing his time between the basketball court and the golf course. He went on to Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he met the love of his life, Susan. The couple married in 1978, the same year he graduated with degrees in Management and Computer Systems. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and deep partnership. They welcomed two daughters, Kate in 1987 and Karolyn in 1992, and later settled in Bedford, New Hampshire, where they formed many lasting friendships.

A pioneer in technology, Rich founded his own company, Success Systems, before joining Fidelity Investments, where he enjoyed a long career and retired as Senior Vice President of Technology. In retirement he devoted himself fully to the people and pursuits he cherished most. An avid golfer since his days as a caddy, he played courses around the world and took special delight in teaching his grandchildren and watching Karolyn develop her own passion for the game. He was also an adventurous cook who loved discovering new recipes and restaurants, a devoted TV and movie enthusiast, and a loyal football companion to Kate.

Above all, Rich found his greatest joy and pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. He supported his children and grandchildren in every endeavor, cheering them on in school, sports, and careers, and took particular happiness in attending Dominik’s football games, Gianna’s soccer matches, and celebrating Shankaya’s completion of her Medical Assistant program. Known for his quick wit and endless supply of punchlines, he brought laughter and warmth to every gathering, even during his illness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan Castaldo; his daughter Kate Castaldo-Rice and her husband Raheem Rice, and their children Shankaya, Dominik, and Gianna; his daughter Karolyn Towle and her husband Greg Towle, and their dogs Remy and Ruger; his mother, Barbara Theysohn; his stepmother, Jacquelyn Castaldo; and his brothers, Bob Castaldo and Todd Castaldo. He was predeceased by his father, John Castaldo, and his sister, Kimberley Stusse.
