February 19, 1935— February 26, 2026
Roseville, CA
Richard B. Peeters, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Roseville, California from natural causes.
Richard Bernard Peeters was born on February 19, 1935, in Wisconsin to John and Marjorie (Stilen) Peeters. He proudly joined the United States Navy and served his country aboard the USS Yorktown during the Korean War.
On May 28, 1960, Richard was united in marriage to Erma Mize. The couple resided in Dinuba, California and Wisconsin during the early years of their marriage before moving to Redwood City, California, in 1968, where they lived for over 30 years and raised their family. Together, Richard and Erma raised five children and shared many joys, including trips to casinos, dancing, spending time on the Pacific coast, and spending cherished time with family and close friends.
Richard was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and found great joy in hunting, fishing and camping. Above all else, he cherished his family. Some of his happiest memories were made traveling and gathering with loved ones at Lake Almanor—camping for weeks, sharing stories and laughter, and creating traditions that will live on for generations.
Richard built a long and successful career as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was well known for his dedication, intelligence, and strong work ethic.
A devoted Catholic, Richard was a loving provider and a steadfast example to his family.
Richard is survived by his brother, John Peeters, sister-in laws Lois Peeters and Fran Peeters; his five children: sons Michael Peeters, Douglas (Margaret) Peeters, Brian (Ruth) Peeters, Sheldon (Cindy) Peeters, and daughter Lori Morlock. He was a proud grandfather to Douglas (Kristine) Peeters Jr., Richard (Kristen) Peeters, Jacob Peeters, Keith (Ruby) Peeters, Ricky (Wilmary) Peeters, Sheldon (Janette) Peeters Jr., Cory (Hannah) Peeters, Austin Morlock, and Ethan Morlock. He was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren Hannah, Raquel, Dahlila, Sadie, Dylan, Kira, Camilla, Nolan, Nora, and Reece William, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John Peeters and Marjorie Peeters-Eulrich; his beloved wife of 60 years, Erma (Mize) Peeters, who passed away from breast cancer in March 2021; and his siblings Leland Peeters, sister-in-law Monica Peeters, Jeanette (Wilfred) Theobald, Donald Peeters (Lois) and Jim (Fran) Peeters and sister-in-law Dorothy Peeters (John).
His remains will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Erma, in Dinuba, California at Smith Mountain Cemetery, Dinuba, CA on March 26th at 1pm PT.
