He was predeceased by: his son Richard Michael DeVoe; his granddaughter Julia Claire DeVoe; his parents, Viola Winifred and Arthur William DeVoe; and his siblings, Donna Viola DeVoe Cauffman, Duane Clarence DeVoe and Dean William DeVoe.

He is survived by: his wife Mae LaVerne DeVoe; his son Arthur Mark DeVoe of Huntsville, Alabama; and his brother Douglas Earl DeVoe of Enterprise, Alabama. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Roselawn Funeral Home (741 Danville Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location.
