He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, July 14, 1962, to Richard and Priscilla (Slagle) Alford. On April 6, 1986, he married Sonja Mills, and she survives.Dick worked for Chuck's Sewer and Drain for over 30 years. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He liked cooking, fishing, and hunting. Dick loved his growing family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a strong-willed man who had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He will be missed dearly.In addition to his loving wife, Sonja, Dick is survived by his step-mother, Joy Alford; daughter, Priscilla A. Alford of Warren; sons, Richard Alan (Amanda) Alford Jr. of Huntington and Robert Eugene (Jessica) Alford of Huntington; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Johnson of Fort Wayne, Angela (Gary) Anderson of NH and Maschell (Mike) Grayson of GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his beloved dog, Zena.He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eugene Alford; mother, Priscilla Hope Alford; and brother, Robert Charles Justus Jr.The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N.
