Richard A. Charpentier
December 21, 1938— February 26, 2026
Cocoa Beach, FL
Richard “Dick” Charpentier passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 87 in Florida, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Manchester, NH, Dick graduated from St. Anthony High School and Bentley College, earning his accounting degree and CPA certification in 1963. He proudly served in the New Hampshire Army National Guard as a Field Artillery Officer, achieving the rank of Lieutenant before his honorable discharge. Dick spent his professional life as a trusted certified public accountant, known for his integrity, steady counsel, and dedication to his clients.
Family and community were at the heart of Dick’s life. He was deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, spending countless hours supporting his son’s Eagle Scout achievements, co founding the Manchester Girls Softball League so his daughters had fair and inclusive opportunities, and creating memories with his grandchildren through Grandparent Fridays, trips, and cherished time spent together.
A passionate advocate for Manchester, Dick supported the development of the SNHU Arena and believed strongly in investing in the city’s future. Proud of his French heritage, he was an incorporator, President, Treasurer and member of the Franco American Centre of New Hampshire. Dick was also a dedicated leader in Rotary Clubs in both Manchester, NH and later in Cocoa Beach, FL, where he and his beloved wife Pauline moved full time in 2018.
Dick is survived by his wife, Pauline; his children, Deanne (Mark) Griffiths, Colette (Melissa) Charpentier, Nicole (John) Breckinridge, Danielle (Robert) Langdon, Richard (Jessica) Charpentier, and Charles (Lindsay) Charpentier; his grandchildren, Allison Griffiths, Tyler (Emily) Breckinridge, Rachel (Sam) Bellemore, Andrea (Chad) Bentley, Becca (Trevor) Walker, and Sebastian Charpentier; his great grandchildren, August Griffiths and Eleanora Walker (expected in June); his sister, Constance Lafond; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his first wife, Muriel; his son, David; and his parents, Irene and Albert Charpentier.
We will miss you very much, Dad / Pepere, but your legacy will live on through us and all who knew and loved you.
