Rhonda Lynn Robbins, age 67 of Seguin, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on October 3, 1958, in McKinney, Texas, to Glenda Wynell (Reese) and Wilburn Lewis Robbins, Rhonda faced a long battle with diabetes, kidney failure, and other health challenges with quiet strength.
She graduated from Lewisville High School in 1977 as a proud member of the LHS Fighting Farmers Band. Rhonda went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from East Texas State University, a Master’s in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Early Childhood Education, and—her most cherished—a Master of Divinity with a specialization in chaplaincy from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. She taught in several school districts, serving as band director, choir director, elementary music teacher, and pre-kindergarten teacher. Later in life she found her true calling as a chaplain at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center and with a hospice organization in New Braunfels. After losing her mother in 2013, she began and long directed a grief therapy class, creating deep and lasting friendships through her gentle guidance.
Though she never married or had children of her own, Rhonda opened her heart and home as a foster parent while working full-time as a teacher in Waco. She cared for several children, including a newborn and a set of toddler siblings, embracing the demanding role of a single working parent with love and dedication.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Rick Robbins (Lisa); nieces Dana Davis (Stuart) and Lindsay Robbins (Sarah Kaspar); great-nieces Henrietta Davis, Evangeline Davis, and Ava Galbo; uncle Larry Reese (Shelley); and many cousins, friends, co-workers, and patients who became like family to her.
