Rex Auburn Raper, 84, of Wilson, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Vickie Raper; daughter, Lisa Horton and husband, Tim; son, Ronnie Raper and wife, Colleen; granddaughters, Rebecca Reaves and husband, Wade, and Ashleigh Anerton and husband, Mikey; grandsons, Joshua Raper and Brandon Horton and wife, Cristin; great-grandsons, William Reaves, Hudson Reaves, Archer Reaves, Jackson Reaves, and Logan Anerton; nephew, Christopher Brown Raper; great-nephew, Tyler Raper and wife Stephanie; and great-great-nephew, Jace Raper.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Mallie and Dora Raper; brother, Mallie Christopher Raper; and nephew, Michael Quinn Raper.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and steadfast love shaped the lives of all who knew him.
