Jenners, age 93, of Berkley, passed away on March 15, 2026.A beloved servant leader, listener, and friend to many, Joyce was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on March 23, 1932, to Ralph and Ethyl Bailey. She grew up in Royal Oak and graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1950. She then began her career working for Judge Hartwick in Royal Oak at the Finance Company. Later, she worked in Detroit at JL Hudson's, where she served as a supervisor in the baby department, a role that reflected her natural care for others.Joyce eventually followed her heart into ministry and served on staff at Woodlawn Church in Royal Oak. In December 1986, she took leadership of the church's senior ministry, the Triple L's-"Living Longer and Loving It." Through this ministry, Joyce faithfully encouraged and uplifted countless seniors, becoming a cherished presence in their lives. She was also involved with Evangelical Alliance Ministerial Association (EAMA), further extending her commitment to faith and community.Known affectionately as "Pastor Jo," Joyce had a spirit that moved her to serve others. She had an extraordinary gift for making people feel valued and cared for. She regularly expressed her care through thoughtful notes, cards, and phone calls, always reaching out to remind people they were remembered and loved. In her free time, she also loved gardening and took great joy in tending to the flowers in her yard.Joyce was an excellent listener and a deeply organized person-if something needed to be done, she was the one people could count on. Her steady presence, compassionate heart, and willingness to serve left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.Joyce's life was marked by kindness, faith, and a genuine love for people. She will be remembered for the way she made others feel special and for the faithful spirit with which she lived and served.Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janet (Kevin) Butler. She was predeceased by her husband, Leland Jenners.Visitation for Joyce will be held on Sunday, March 22, from 1 - 8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. The funeral service for Joyce will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 1:00 p.m. (visitation 12:00 p.m.) at Woodside Bible Church, 3620 Rochester Rd., Royal Oak.
