Aurel Dely’s life was centered on his family and his faith. Guided by a deep and abiding faith, he passed away at home on Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old.
Born on March 23, 1947, in Delmas, Haiti, to the late Alongene and Cherisma Dely, Aurel was raised and educated in his homeland. He married Yanick Jean-Philippe in 1975 and together they immigrated to the United States, where he worked tirelessly to build a secure future for his family both here and in Haiti. After settling in Waltham, Massachusetts, he was employed at G.T.E. Corporation and later served for many years as a mental health worker at the former Walter E. Fernald School.
Rev. Dely devoted his life to ministry, faithfully serving as pastor at Siloam Church of God in Watertown, Massachusetts. Known for his dedication, humility, and spiritual leadership, he was later elevated to Bishop.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Yanick, and their children: Billdickson R. Dely (Heather), Natalie Marin (Clayton), Betty Broadnax (Adrian), and Rachel Dely. He was a proud grandfather to Alizah Dely, Apollodickson Dely, Aresdickson Dely, Atlasdickson Dely, Layla Marin, Kaylee Marin, Claymar Marin, Caius Broadnax, and Doss Broadnax. He is also survived by his sisters Elmina McCullough and Christiana Rosenberg, many loving nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his siblings Philogene, Xavier, Alena, Olande, Germaine, Theresa-Dieumela, Etienne, and Anise.
