March 31, 1952— March 11, 2026
Taylors, SC
Reid Allen Davis was born on March 31, 1952, in Old Fort, North Carolina, to Violet Walker Davis and William Earl Davis. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Reid passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Davis (Doris), and is survived by his sister, Sue Moffitt (Allen). Reid was the devoted husband of Dana Allison Davis, with whom he shared 53.5 years of marriage. He was the proud father of Nicole (Jeff) and Mason (Jamie), and he deeply cherished his role as “Grandaddy” to his grandchildren Emma (Caleb), Ethan, Preston, and Aurora. Reid’s greatest joy was his family and his dog, Griff.
Reid graduated as valedictorian from Old Fort High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Dana. He went on to earn a degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. A man of dedication, intelligence, and quiet strength, he worked for Cooper Lighting for 36 years prior to his retirement in 2015, managing 19 plants and building lasting relationships with colleagues and friends.
He found joy in hunting, fishing, woodworking, listening to music, and spending time on the golf course. A loyal fan, he rarely missed watching NC State football or basketball. In recent years, Reid faced Corticobasal Degeneration with the same quiet strength and determination that defined his life. He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his steady presence, and his unwavering integrity. His family finds comfort in the words of 2 Timothy 4:7–8, as Reid now rests in the arms of his Lord.
