Reginald Reed ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors & Crematory on Mar. 11, 2026.Reginald Keith Reed, affectionately known as "Pete," was born on October 20, 1955, in Frankfurt, Germany, to the union of the late Ora D. and James C. Reed. He moved to Colorado with his family as a young adult.Pete graduated from Widefield High School in 1974 and immediately enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a telephone lineman. After receiving an honorable discharge at Fort Hood, Texas, he returned to Colorado Springs, Colorado.In 1974, Pete met Lena Mitchell in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. The two were married in 1975, and from this union their son, Marscellus Reed, was born in 1976.During the 1970s and 1980s, Pete was an avid motocross and flat-track racer, competing in Castle Rock in various racing classifications. His love for motorcycles led him to riding Harley-Davidsons.Pete also had a deep dedication to martial arts and earned a black belt in Taekwondo. He was known for his many talents and hobbies. Pete was an excellent fisherman and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. He was particularly skilled at the game of Spades and had a knack for counting dominoes, often knowing what pieces remained in his opponents' hands.One of Pete's greatest gifts was his mechanical ability. If it had wheels or a motor, Pete could fix it. His skill and passion led him to open his own auto repair shop, Pete's Pit Stop, where he helped countless members of the community with their vehicles. Later in life, Pete worked as a tow truck operator for Collins Towing from 2017 until he became ill.Pete passed peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora D. and James C. Reed, and his brother, Gerald R. Reed.Pete leaves to cherish his memory to his son, Marscellus Reed (Zatanna); his grandchildren, Lenaya Reed and Marscellus Reed II; his siblings, Ronald W. Reed, MBA, RP (Mindy); Vernadette Reed (sister-in-law); Patricia Reed-Hicks (Ervin); and Haywood C. Reed (Maxine); as well as his significant other, Wonda "Princess" Jacobs. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.Pete will be remembered for his love, kindness, talents, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
