Reginal Norris Fletcher

Merryville, LA
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Reginal Norris Fletcher, Jr., who left us on March 1, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on December 4, 1949, in DeRidder, Louisiana, Reginal (or "Reggie" as he was known to friends and family) spent his life in the small town of Merryville, where he became a beloved member of the community.
Reggie was a dedicated heavy equipment operator in the logging industry, a job he loved and poured his heart into. He was a hard worker. An old soul at heart, he often felt like a man born in the wrong time, but his timeless interests brought joy to those around him.
He cherished the outdoors, relishing every opportunity to go hunting, fishing, and digging for arrowheads. He was also a die-hard LSU fan, often found cheering for his team with unbridled enthusiasm. Above all, Reggie loved his family fiercely.
He is survived by his two sons, Poncho Fletcher and Kayla Springer of Merryville, LA and Joshua Norris Fletcher and Mirranda of Bon Wier, TX; daughter, Jenny Sanders of WA; mother of his children, Vicky Karen Pelfrey of Houston, TX; brothers, Tommy Fletcher and Lois of Merryville, LA, Kenny Patz and Sonya of Evans, LA; sisters, Gail Green and Luther of DeRidder, LA, Sandy Morrison and Charles of Merryville, LA; nephew, Luke Fletcher and Laura of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Taylor, Adam, Shelby, Collin, Justine, Camden and a host of other family and friends.
Reggie was preceded in death by his father, Reginal Norris Fletcher, Sr.; mother, Norma Patz; grandson, Joshua Brody Fletcher; nephew, Cody Fletcher.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Reggie's life with a funeral service at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 11:00 am. There will be a public viewing prior to the service starting at 9:00 am that same day. Following the service, Reggie will be laid to rest at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Thompson and Mike Myers.
Reginal's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his spirit and love for life will remain in our hearts forever.
