Huntsville, AL

Regina Roth Dembo, born October 1, 1926, in Vienna, Austria, passed away on March 8, 2026. The eldest daughter of Maryam Rubin Roth and Isidor Roth, she was forced to flee her homeland at the age of twelve with her two younger sisters to escape religious persecution. Together they raised their family in Pakistan, California, and Washington, D.C., before settling in Huntsville, Alabama, in 1968. Regina was a longtime member of Temple B’nai Sholom and taught fourth grade for many years at Weatherly Elementary School, where she was beloved by her students.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Regina is survived by her daughters, Margaret D. Gore (Richard) and Elizabeth D. Miller (Solomon); five grandchildren, Isabelle Miller (Pedro Aguiar), Louis Miller, Diana Gore Robinson (Aaron), Elizabeth Gore, and George Gore (Douglas); great-grandchildren, Raphaella, Lily, and Benjamin Cesar, and Alice Robinson; her sister, Herta Roth Walcoff; and her foster sister, Lois Schwager and foster brother, Edward Herzig (Jane). She was predeceased by her husband, Michael M. Dembo, and her sister, Suzanne Roth Bernstein.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
