Regina Mary McLean
Georgetown, ON
Regina Mary McLean (née Collins) passed away peacefully on March 8 at Milton Hospital, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harry, their sons Greg (Jayne), Frank (Becky) and Alan (Vicki), her sister Maureen (Jim), and brother Patrick (Shirley). Regina was the proud grandmother—known affectionately as Nanny—to Abigael, Lucas (Chloe), Dashiel, Lia, Paige, Gilles and Aiden, and great-grandmother to Carly and Kylie. She was also deeply loved by many nieces and nephews from the Collins and McLean families.
Born in Riverhead, Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Gina, as she was fondly known, graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1965. After working briefly in her profession, she met her husband Harry and moved to Ontario in 1967 to begin their life together. She later worked at Northern Electric and Canada Post before becoming a capable and patient carpenter’s apprentice alongside her husband. Regina spent most of her adult life in Georgetown, with a decade in Mildmay, Ontario, before returning to settle into condo life in Georgetown.
A kind and empathetic woman, Regina was always willing to help others. A devout Catholic and active member of Holy Cross Parish, she lived her faith quietly and consistently. She could often be found in her kitchen with her Bible, Rosary, and a cup of tea. She cherished her family above all, followed closely by her beloved pets Hobo, Chico, Stormy, Kramer and Barney. In her later years, she found simple joy and amusement in scratch tickets.
Regina will be fondly remembered by her extended family, friends, and former colleagues.
