Rebecca "Becky" Mitchell Brown

Rebecca “Becky” Mitchell Brown, age 80, of Spencer, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in Henry County to the late Simpson J. Mitchell and Irene Wood Mitchell, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Mitchell; her sister-in-law, Anita Mitchell; and her brother-in-law, John Boggess, Sr.

Becky shared 52 years of marriage with her husband, Mike Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Brown-King and son-in-law, Kenneth; her grandchildren, Nicholas King and his wife, Wendy, and Susan King; and her great-grandchildren, Finleigh King, Fletcher King, Eliza Mabe, and Sophia Mabe. She also leaves behind her sister, Jeanette Boggess, along with several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

A private service will be held for Mrs. Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Moorefield Store Volunteer Fire Department c/o Norman Grogan, 1716 Virginia-North Carolina Rd., Spencer, VA 24165, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
